Evelyn Strain Harlin

Jacksonville, FL- Evelyn Strain Harlin, 79, died November 11, 2009 at Sterling House Assisted Living under the care of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. She was born in Roanoke, Alabama, daughter of the late, Padrue K and Lois McCarter Strain. She lived in Savannah for fifty years until she recently moved to Jacksonville to be close to her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Harlin was an accomplished piano and guitar teacher for over thirty years. Her husband of sixty two years, Rudolph Harlin, brother, Ray Strain and grandson, Joseph Harlin preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lynn Harlin; sister, Syble Spears and her husband, Bill; grandsons, Christopher Harlin, Jonathan Borgsmiller and his wife, Jessica; great grandson, Christian Harlin; nieces, Angelia Kaplan and Hilda Jones.

Visitation: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Graveside Service: 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Reverend Ken Jernigan officiating.
